THIEVES CHICKEN OUT IN BREAK-IN AT KFC; ONE PERSON ARRESTED

GRAVENHURST — Would-be thieves chickened out after breaking in to a fast food restaurant here early yesterday.

Police say that on Wednesday, Sept. 7 the Kentucky Fried Chicken owner arrived at work to find someone had broken in.

At 9 a.m. police were called to the KFC on Winewood Avenue.

They say suspects broke a window to gain entry during the early morning hours, causing damage to the building.

However they were unsuccessful at stealing anything.

After reviewing surveillance footage of the area as a part of their investigation, police arrested and charged 35-year-old Cassandra Pollard, of Gravenhurst, with Break and Enter CC 348(1)(a).

Pollard is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Oct. 25, 2022.

The second culprit remains outstanding.

The KFC in Gravenhurst was broken into early yesterday, but nothing was stolen says the owner.
