GRAVENHURST WOMAN CHARGED THIRD TIME SINCE MAY AFTER BREAK, ENTER AND AUTO THEFTS ON FIRST STREET EARLY YESTERDAY

GRAVENHURST — A woman charged with drug and gun possession in May and theft of 70 water jugs in August, faces multiple new charges after a break and enter here on First Street early yesterday.
Police say Shannan Green, 33, of Gravenhurst, was charged Sunday after officers responded to a 911 call at 4:14 a.m.
They say residents were woken to someone in their residence. When they began looking around, they observed their kitchen screen had been cut and had been a point of entry.
And moments later their vehicle pulled back into the driveway after being stolen.
The victim observed a female flee on foot.
OPP canvassed the area and located the suspect as well as recovering several items that were stolen from parked cars nearby.
They say “high-end household items” were located scattered along First Street.
All the stolen items from vehicles were returned to the owners.
Police located and arrested Green, charging her with:
- Break and Enter CC Section 348(1)(a)
- Theft of Motor Vehicle CC 333.1
- Theft under $5000 from Motor Vehicle CC 334(b) x 2
- Theft under $5000 X 3
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 CC 354(1)(a) x2
Green is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 18, 2022.
Police did not say whether she was held in custody or if she faced a bail hearing.
After the recent theft of water jugs in mid- to late August, police arrested and charged Green with Theft Under $5,000 CC 334(b). She is to appear in court on that charge Oct. 11.
And on May 6 Green was charged with Possession of Schedule I (Cocaine) for the Purpose of Trafficking CDSA 5(2) and two counts of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose CC 88. She was to appear in court June 21 to answer those charges.
