EARLY MORNING ASSAULT TODAY LEADS TO CHARGES AGAINST HUNTSVILLE MAN, 66

HUNTSVILLE A man arrested just after midnight today has been charged with assault and is being held for a court appearance Wednesday.

Police say they responded to an aggravated assault call following at dispute early Monday, Sept. 26.

Officers were called out to Ravenscliffe Road at 12:06 a.m.

Following the police investigation, George Butcher, 66, of Huntsville, was charged with Aggravated assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Butcher was held in custody to appear Sept. 28, 2022, in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka.

The victim of the assault was transported by Muskoka Paramedic Services to hospital and airlifted to a hospital out of the Muskoka area with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the assault is ongoing.
