NOVICE DRIVER FACES SIX CHARGES AFTER HITTING TRAFFIC LIGHT POLE THIS MORNING

HUNTSVILLE A “novice” driver whose vehicle hit a traffic light on Hwy. 60 just after midnight today faces six charges, including impaired operation of a vehicle.

Police arrested and charged the driver after investigating a single motor vehicle collision, which occurred in Huntsville.

They say that on Aug. 3, at 12:07 a.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection with Szawloski Drive, where the vehicle collided with a traffic light post causing damage to the lights.

Following an investigation Tyler Godin-Blake, 28, of Huntsville, faces the following five charges:

  1. Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired contrary to section 320.14 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
  2. Failure to comply with demand contrary to section 320.15(1)of the Criminal Code of Canada.
  3. Novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero contrary to section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act.
  4. Careless driving contrary to section 130 (1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
  5. Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available contrary to section 42 (1)(b) of the Liquor Licence Act.
  6. Drive motor vehicle with handled communication device contrary to section 78.1(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

Blake was released from custody and is scheduled to appear on September 27, 2022 in the Ontario Court of Justice Muskoka.

After the crash, reported to police at 12:07 a.m. today, they charged a Huntsville man, 28.
