$750,000 FIRE ON BRITANNIA ROAD IN HUNTSVILLE LAST NIGHT UNDER INVESTIGATION

HUNTSVILLE Fire officials are investigating after a fire last night on Britannia Road caused $750,000 damage.

The occupants of the home noticed smoke coming from the eaves of the home and called 911. All were able to get out of the home safely.

The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department responded to the structure fire at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 2.

Firefighters from Station 1 and 5 with assistance from Station 4 in Baysville encountered heavy flames in the roof area of the structure, prompting the use of their aerial ladder truck.

Crews remained on-scene for several hours dealing with hotspots.

The building sustained extensive damage with damage estimated to be approximately $750,000.

The origin, cause and circumstances are currently under investigation.

Two crews from Huntsville and one from Baysville were called out at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night along with an aerial ladder truck. Photo HLBFD
