MUSKOKA LAKES MAN CHARGED AFTER RAMPAGE AT PRIDE OF ROSSEAU MARINA DESTROYS BUILDING
MUSKOKA LAKES — A “disgruntled fired employee” has been charged with going on a rampage with an excavator at Pride of Rosseau destroying at least one building.
Police say late Thursday they charged him in relation to a mischief investigation at the marina in northwest Muskoka Lakes Township.
They say that on July 21, just after 9 p.m., officers were dispatched to attend Pride of Rosseau marina on Lake Rosseau. Upon arrival, officers confirmed there was significant damage done to the property.
Online video shows a building being torn down.
As a result of the investigation, a 59-year-old male of Muskoka Lakes was charged with Mischief Over $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 430(3).
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge at a later date to answer to this charge.
Police say that after consultation with the Pride owners they are not releasing the man’s name.
Sources tell us the accused was a “disgruntled fired employee,” destroyed the building.
