GRAVENHURST — Hells Angels gassed up here and were gone in minutes.

This morning about 15-20 bikers roared in to the Petro-Can gas bar at the south end of the town’s main street here for a quick fill-up.

Gas jockey Donna Wood said they came and went “no problem.”

They were from Saskatchewan, she said, and headed south where some 1,000 Hells Angels from across Canada converged in the GTA as reportedly part of memorial ride for the former Toronto chapter president, Donny Petersen, who died at 74 of natural causes in 2021.

A biker rally in Brookin, near Whitby was planned for the weekend.

She said she looked out the kiosk window and saw “Hells Angels Saskatchewan” on their back.

She was surprised how old some of them were.

“In their ’70s.”

Not all were big, burly bikers.

“A couple were small and a couple young”

But “no problem.”

She said only one yelled “You got a washroom.”

Wood wasn’t intimidated at all when they came in to pay.

“They’re always nice. They don’t want people to think they’re bad.”

And she didn’t take any photos.

Otherwise it was gas up and they were gone.

But they didn’t spend much money.

“Bikes don’t cost that much to fill up.”

Donna Wood said she wasn’t the least bit intimidated when 15-20 Hells Angels bikers from Saskatchewan roared into the Petro-Can gas bard in Gravenhurst Friday morning.

You never know who’s going to pop in to fuel up as the Petro-Canada gas bar, says Donna Wood.
