UPDATE: BAYSVILLE ATV DRIVER, 43, NOT WEARING HELMET DIES AFTER HITTING HYDRO POLE IN LAKE OF BAYS

BAYSVILLE An ATV driver who entered a ditch and collided with a hydro pole yesterday afternoon died, say police who are investigating the fatal single vehicle collision here.

They say that on Saturday, June 4 at 3 p.m., emergency services responded to Dickie Lake Road in Lake of Bays Township, just east of Baysville.

Their initial investigation revealed a westbound ATV entered a ditch and collided with a hydro pole. The single rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police identified him on Monday, June 6, as Rolan Totayo, 43, of Baysville.

The identify of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken with police is asked to call Huntsville OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
