TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED AND CANNABIS CHARGES AGAINST 20-YEAR-OLD

GRAVENHURST — An early morning traffic stop yesterday along Hwy. 11 had led to impaired driving and cannabis charges against a local man.

Police say that on Thursday May 5, at 1:30 a.m., officers were conducting general patrol in the town of Gravenhurst when they observed a vehicle travelling on the highway with heavily tinted windows.

After a traffic stop and investigation they arrested and charged Dylan Bannister, 20, of Kilworthy, with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a), and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).

He was also charged under with numerous offences under the Highway Traffic Act and the Cannabis Control Act.

Bannister is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, May 31, 2022.

His driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded.
