GRAVENHURST HORT PLANT SALE SATURDAY MORNING AT OPERA HOUSE

GRAVENHURST — It’s May!

Of course that’s why the weather forecasts are so accurate — rain today, sunny tomorrow, mix the next day.

Still a perfect time for planting and gardening.

Rain or shine the annual Gravenhurst Horticultural Society plant and bake sale is going ahead this Saturday of the long weekend at the Heritage Square in front of the Opera House.

Look for the hardy ladies in the blue vests with yellow sunflowers to be out at 8:30 a.m. with tables full of hundreds of starter plants perfect for transplant into your garden, around your house or on your apartment balcony — or even indoors.

These are plans lovingly nurtured by the greenest of horticulturalist thumbs who know what they’re doing and you can rely on them to provide you with their expertise at the table and time of sale.

Ask whether the plants need to be sun or shade, how much watering they need and if they recommend any fertilizer.

And how you need to talk to your plants to make them grow.

These ladies will tell you what to say — and what not to.

If you’re a novice gardener or love plants as they do, they’re the ones to talk to.

There’s a plant for every type of person.

Join them May 21 till noon.
