GRAVENHURST SCHOOLS WILL OPEN MONDAY DESPITE BOIL WATER ADVISORY

GRAVENHURST — Friday may have been a PA day for kids (who began getting vaccines) everywhere, but Monday won’t be the same here in Gravenhurst despite a health unit Boil Water Advisory.

Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TDLSB) says in a release late Sunday afternoon that it will not interrupt the school day and schools will be open tomorrow, Nov. 29.

They say the schools will follow the boil water advisory and there has been bottled water for drinking supplied to the schools — as the fountains have been temporarily turned off. Gravenhurst schools will continue to receive a safe drinking water supply from TLDSB Facility Services until the advisory is lifted.

That could be as early as Tuesday afternoon, according to the District of Muskoka, the water supplier.

Washroom facilities are functioning normally and are safe to use.

The town water is considered safe for handwashing.
