DRIVER IN DITCH CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING WEDNESDAY

GRAVENHURST — A driver whose vehicle was found in a ditch last night has been charged with impaired driving.

Police say they responded to a concern from a member of the public on Tuesday Nov. 23 at 8:40 p.m. about a vehicle that was in the ditch on Beiers Road in Gravenhurst.

Officers arrived and located the driver nearby attempting to leave the scene and conducted an investigation into the circumstances.

Steven McDonald. 66, of Gravenhurst, was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b) as well as Failing to Remain at a Collision HTA200(1)(a).

McDonald is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Jan. 25, 2022.

His driver’s license has been suspended and vehicle impounded.
