‘SWEDETOWN’ LATEST LEARNING CHAPTER IN HISTORY OF GRAVENHURST SERIES WEDNESDAY

GRAVENHURST —  Judy Humphries’ popular ‘Local history 101’ Zooms in on “Swedetown” this week.

The town’s archivist brings to life another absorbing chapter in the rich development of the community more than a century ago.

“I will be talking about Swedetown and our Scandinavian settlers this week to people who love our Gravenhurst history.

“Since we (the Gravenhurst Municipal Heritage Committee) are about to erect and unveil an interpretive panel in Swedetown sometime soon, I thought the timing for this talk might be perfect,” she said in a reminder.

The talk will come to you through the partnership between Gravenhurst Archives and Gravenhurst Public Library.

And it’s very popular, with about 100 people expected to sign in to look, listen and learn.

Once again it will be done on ZOOM at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13.
