OPP AVOID ESCALATING SITUATION AFTER CONFRONTING MAN ‘SCREAMING, WIELDING KNIFE’

HUNTSVILLE — Police avoided a potentially dangerous and escalating weapon confrontation yesterday afternoon when they peacefully confined a young man “yelling and screaming while waving around a 17-inch knife” outside a west end store.

They say that on Oct. 12 at 2:30 p.m., they were called to Maslack Supply for a male who they say was “holding the knife and screaming.”

Officers arrived on scene and located the man in front of Main Street west automotive and industrial supply store, arresting him and taking him to the Huntsville OPP detachment.

As a result, Quinn (Brian) Crick, 24, of Huntsville, was charged with:

  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Quinn was held for a bail hearing today and released.

He is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Huntsville Nov. 3, 2021.
