2 HOSPITALIZED AS CARS COLLIDE ON HWY. 60 YESTERDAY

ALGONQUIN HIGHLANDS — Two people seriously injured in a car crash ended up in hospitals in Toronto and Sudbury yesterday afternoon on Hwy. 60.

Two others among the four injured in the two-vehicle crash suffered minor injuries.

One other person was uninjured.

Provincial police say that on Aug. 4, at 3:38 p.m., officers along with the Muskoka Paramedic Services and Algonquin Highland Fire Department responded to the accident at Ragged Falls Park Road in Algonquin Highlands Township.

They say one car had three people and the other car two people.

Four of them were transported to hospital, two with minor injuries and two with serious injuries.

The two with serious injuries are in stable condition. One is at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. The second is at Health Sciences North, University Hospital in Sudbury.

Hwy. 60, which was closed for the OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) to investigate, opened later in the day.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing and further information will be released when it becomes available.

Hwy. 60 at Ragged Falls Park Road on Hwy. 60 was closed after 3:30 p.m. for a two vehicle accident that injured four of five people in the two cars.
