WHEN, WHERE TO GET VACCINE BOOKINGS IN SIMCOE-MUSKOKA
Mark Clairmont | MuskokaTODAY.com
SIMCOE-MUSKOKA — Getting a vaccine shot is getting easier — but it still takes time, effort as possibly travel.
And if you can travel to another community, under new stay-at-home orders going to medical appointments is an acceptable reason to leave your home.
A five-minute call to the provincial hotline yesterday — 1-833-943-3900 — resulted in a positive booking next week in Minden and a second injection in August.
Dr. Charles Gardner said yesterday that the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and its municipal partners and security firms are operating seven days a week and rotating around the region.
Responding to MuskokaTODAY.com query today, spokesperson Leslie Gordon said when a person books through the provincial site it gives them an option for health unit location and days with available appointments.
Gardner said regional sites were booked to April 17 and that more spaces were added in to May.
Gordon added, for example, people who booked for a vaccine in Simcoe-Muskoka this week were given the opportunity to pick from this list:
