‘SMOKING’ TRUCK DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED BY DRUG

GRAVENHURST — Middle of the night drivers yesterday who spotted a truck bouncing off the Hwy. 11 median led police to stop and charge the vehicle operator with being impaired by drug.

OPP say that on Nov. 3 at 2:30 a.m. police received multiple 911 complaints from northbound motorists in Gravenhurst, near Sparrow Lake Route D.

Police say the black truck was speeding and hit the centre concrete barrier more than once.

Officers located the “smoking” northbound vehicle and stopped it.

They arrested and charged 31-year-old Mathew Foley, of Bracebridge, with Impaired Operation by Drug CC 320.14(1)(a).

Foley is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Jan.y 12, 2021.
