DRIVER DIES AFTER COLLISION WITH CONCRETE TRUCK THIS MORNING

BRACEBRIDGE — A pick-up truck driver who collided with a larger truck carrying concrete this morning has died.

Police say that just after 9 a.m., Wednesday Nov. 4, emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision involving the two trucks on Brackenrig Road, in Bracebridge.

The 37-year-old male driver of the pick-up truck, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The operator of the concrete truck was air lifted by air ambulance to hospital with serious injuries.

Just after noon, police said the OPP’s Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) were at the scene investigating.

The investigation is on-going, and a road closure is in effect on Brackenrig Road, south of Windemere Road.

Drivers are asked to find an alternative route around the area.

Police are investigating a morning accident between two trucks that claimed a 37-year-old driver at the scene and had the other driver airlifted to hospital.
