MANNA FOOD BANK DRIVE SEEKS CASH INSTEAD OF FOOD

BRACEBRIDGE — Different times call for a different approach.

Welcome to the Muskoka Oldtimers Virtual Fall Food Drive 2020 fundraiser.

The pandemic has changed how the Muskoka Oldtimers handle their annual Fall Food Drive for Manna.

This the year door-to-door campaign has been cancelled and is will be online.

However, the food bank remains open (with measures in place to keep clients and volunteers safe), and need remains. So we decided to go virtual.

It’s actually a fund drive, as in, they’re asking the community to donate cash rather than food.

But they are calling it a “Food” drive because all the funds raised will go toward purchasing food for our clients.

The goal? $25,000

Between Oct. 5-12 you can use the CanadaHelps form to send your secure financial donation to Manna.

The Manna Food Bank is entirely volunteer run and community supported. Manna is a registered charity and you will receive a tax receipt for your donation.

For those preferring to do it the old fashioned way, Manna is always grateful to receive cheques, made out to Manna Food Bank and mailed to Box 462, Bracebridge, ON P1L 1T8.

Those who send cheques will also receive tax receipts. (Be sure to include your name and mailing address.)

You can also go online to donate at: https://mannafoodbank.ca/

“Our community has always pulled together for Manna. We hope during these difficult times that this collective goodwill will continue. Thank you for your support,” says the Muskoka Oldtimers and the board of directors of the Manna Food Bank.

Get on board with the annual Muskoka Oldtimers and Manna Food Bank with cash instead of food this week before Thanksgiving.
As of Wednesday, Oct. 7, this week’s fundraiser has raised more than $3,100.
