BRACEBRIDGE HAS 2 MORE OF 29 COVID CASES IN SIMCOE-MUSKOKA

MUSKOKA — Statistically Simcoe-Muskoka is stayed true today to the soaring national trends.

Over the weekend the local health unit reports that 29 new cases came to light.

Is that because of extra testing?

In Muskoka it wasn’t as bad.

But Bracebridge is becoming the latest hot spot after Huntsville was No. 1 many days.

A man and woman in the centre of Muskoka top today’s count here.

He is male 45-64 and under investigation.

She is 18-24 with close contact.

That’s as Ontario says today 700 tested positive — the highest number since 640 on April 24.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that a staff member at Muskoka Shores LTC in Gravenhurst Sept. 18 is now part of an “institutional outbreak,” as of Sept. 23, says the Simcoe Muskoka Distirct Health Unit.

The two cases in Bracebridge are in addition to 27 others Sept. 28:

10 in Barrie; 7 in New Tecumseth; 4 in Bradword-West Gwillimbury; 2 in Orillia and 1 each in Oro-Medonte, Innisfil, Clearwater and Essa.

The fight against COVID-19’s second wave has most Canadians rallying to conquer the coronavirus, as seen by this Raptors fan and woman walking and enjoying coffee and muffin the Muskoka Wharf yesterday in Gravenhurst on a gorgeous late September day.
