GARDEN HOSE HOLDS FLAMES TILL FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVE

GRAVENHURST — Occupants of a house here on Hwy. 11 south held a garage fire in check with a garden hose this afternoon until firefighters quickly arrived to put it out.

The Gravenhurst Fire Department tweeted Wednesday, May 6, that Stations 1 and 2 firefighters responded to the blaze at 1:20 p.m., on the southbound side of the highway near Priaulx Road.

They say crews were able to quickly to douse the flames.

And report that there were no injuries.

They estimate damage at about $15,000.
