NOVICE DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED

MUSKOKA LAKES TWP. — A novice driver faces an impaired driving charge after an accident early yesterday between Gravenhurst and Bala.

Provincial police say that on Sunday April 19, at 12:30 a.m., they responded to a report of a vehicle that had left the road on Muskoka Road 169 near Walkers Point Road in Muskoka Lakes Township.

Officers attended and conducted an investigation into the collision and as a result, arrested and charged 24-year-old Corey Foreman with:

  • Impaired Operation- Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • And the Highway Traffic Act Offense of Novice Driver having a B.A.C above zero.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 2, 2020 to answer to his charges.

In all cases where a driver is charged with impaired driving, Foreman’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle is impounded.

A driver whose vehicle crashed off the road near Walker’s Point early Sunday faces two charges.
