DRUG, DRIVING CHARGES IN BB

BRACEBRIDGE — A local man faces multiple drug and driving charges after being stopped Friday morning.

Provincial police say that on April 17 at 10:15 a.m., while on patrol in the town of Bracebridge, an officer’s attention was drawn to a vehicle travelling erratically in the area of Wellington Street and Armstrong Street.

The vehicle and driver were located and the officer conducted an investigation and as a result arrested and charged 33-year-old Louis Close with Operation while Impaired by Drug CC 320.14(1)(a), Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl) CDSA 4(1) and Fail to Comply with Probation CC 733.1(1) along with several Highway Traffic Act Offences.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 23, 2020 to answer to his charges.

In all cases where a driver is charged with impaired driving, their driver’s licence is suspended for 90 days and their vehicle is impounded.
