GRAVENHURST – Day 2 of the Gravenhurst Winter Carnival was another opportunity to experience the outdoors at its seasonal best.

And a number of people took advantage from early Sunday morning at the Muskoka Wharf.

The day began with four lumberjack shows at the sports field.

Over on Lake Muskoka, organizer Jeremy Rand said about 100 people tried out Croki-curl – a combination of crokinole and curling.

Up at A.P. Cockburn Square, the Daycare Dash was a chance to dress Teddy in snowpants, put him/her in a car seat, clean snow off the minivan windshield, drive to the day care, put Teddy in a stroller, go through a door, go get a coffee and come back and pick up Teddy and drive home – all in about 5 minutes.

South of town was the demo derby, which Mayor Paul Kelly said drew at least 1,000 people.

Then is was back for the awards celebration and fireworks over Muskoka Bay.

Here’s a look at some of it.
