SNOWMOBILER, 14, DIES AFTER HITTING TREE IN KEARNEY SUNDAY

KEARNEY — A 14-year-old snowmobiler is dead after going off a trail and hitting a tree early Sunday afternoon about 3 p.m.

Provincial police at Burk’s Falls identified the teen as Mark Ramolla, of Springwater Township, Ont.

The accident occurred near Rain Lake Road, on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs’ Top D trail in Kearney.

Despite response by EMS services, Ramolla died on the scene.

Kearney is about 20 minutes due north of Huntsville and near Burk’s Falls.

Police in Burk’s Falls say the teen left the trail and hit a tree and died.
