2 HUNTSVILLE MEN CHARGED WITH STEALING SNOWMOBILE

HUNTSVILLE — A slippery sled with an alerted VIN has led to several charges for a pair of Huntsville men.

Provincial police say that on January 6, an officer with the Huntsville OPP detachment OPP was conducting traffic stop on Ravenscliffe Road and Highway 11 when they observed a pickup truck towing an enclosed trailer.

Police say the officer made the stop as the plate did not appear to be attached to the proper trailer.

Upon further investigation it was found that the trailer had been stolen from a Huntsville man at the beginning of January, 2020.

As well, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) had also been altered and the two were charged.

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Altering/Destroying/Removing a Vehicle Identification Number contrary to Section 353.1 of the Criminal code of Canada

And Rostislav Fedoun, 45:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Altering/Destroying/Removing a Vehicle Identification Number contrary to Section 353.1 of the Criminal code of Canada

Use Plate not Authorized contrary to Section 12(1)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act

They were arrested and released to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville on the March 4, 2020 to answer to their charges.

Police pulled over a trailer carrying a stolen snowmobile Jan. 6 and charged 2 Huntsville men.
