YOUTH OLYMPIAN LIAM BREARLEY GETS HERO’S WELCOME

GRAVENHURST — Liam Brearley is a tried, tested and true Olympian.

The Gravenhurst snowboarder is still buzzing after his quick return last week from Switzerland, where he won three medals at the Youth Olympics in Laussane.

He had to rush back for exams at GHS, where the 16-year-old is a student. He turns 17 Feb. 27.

And after he finished his last test Friday, he received a hero’s welcome when he was greeted outside the school by fellow students and some younger admirers from next door at Gravenhurst Public School.

Brearley emerged from the front door, led by principal Trent Willett, to loud cheers and appeared genuinely overwhelmed by the support.
