2 MUSKOKA MEN FACE DRUG, THEFT CHARGES

BRACEBRIDGE — A Muskoka Lakes man is to appear in bail court tomorrow, Jan. 21, on a number of drug and auto theft-related charges after being arrested in police stop last Wednesday.

A police stop last Wednesday has led to multiple charges against two men from Muskoka Lakes and Bracebrige.

Provincial police say that on Jan. 15, 2020, at 10:45 a.m. officers at Bracebridge made a traffic stop on Woodchester Avenue after they say they noticed “some concerning driving behaviour.”

Upon further investigation they learned that neither the driver or the passenger had permission to use the vehicle.

After subsequent investigation, the OPP have charged 29-year-old Jesse Adair with:

  • Impaired Operation by Drug CC 320.14(1)(c )
  • Trafficking in Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamines CDSA 5(1)
  • Take Motor Vehicle without Consent CC 335(1)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime CC 354(1)(a)
  • Drive while Prohibited CC 320.18(1)(a) X 3
  • Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available CCA2017 12(1)

He is scheduled to be in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge for a bail hearing Jan. 21, 2020.

Police have also charged the passenger, 18 year-old Scott Richardson, of Bracebridge, with the following:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime CC 354(1)(a)
  • Trafficking in Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamines CDSA 5(1)
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking CC 145(3)
  • Use of Credit Card (obtained by crime) CC 342(1)(c) X5

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Feb. 18, 2020 to answer to his charges.
