GEORGE ROAD DEATH IN BRACEBRIDGE BEING INVESTIGATED

BRACEBRIDGE — Provincial police are investigating a death in the George Road area this week.

OPP Const. Sam Bigley said Thursday that while police are not treating it as “suspicious” at this point, she added that they are waiting autopsy results to confirm the cause of death.

Neighbours in the area, just past Santa’s Village where there was a lot of flooding this spring near where the Muskoka River flows into Lake Muskoka, say police officers were going door-to-door on Wednesday.

They were asking if anyone had seen anything suspicious.

Bigley said in some cases people who see police on a scene may be seeing them assisting in a medical occurrence, as was the case on Wellington Street in Bracebridge this week.

If you have any information that may help offices in their investigation, you can contact the Bracebride OPP detachment at 705-645-2211. Or call Crime Stoppers to report an incident anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
