TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG CHARGE

BRACEBRIDGE — A driver stopped for a traffic offence faces additional charges, including possession of drugs.

Provincial police said on Friday that on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at 10:15 p.m. a an officer from the Bracebridge OPP stopped a vehicle on Cedar Lane in Bracebridge for a traffic offence and discovered that the driver of the vehicle was suspended from driving. After further investigation, the officer charged 53-year-old Darren Sculthorp, of Bracebridge, with three counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Opioids) CDSA 4(1).

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 15.

A Bracebridge driver was also driving while suspended.
