PLANE CRASH LANDS TWO PILOT, PASSENGER IN HOSPITAL

CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES Transport Canada officials are trying to learn why a plane crashed near here Friday.

Provincial police say a 911 call put emergency services into action Aug. 16, when the plane, carrying the pilot and one passenger in the grey-metal plane, crashed into a ditch near the intersection of Kawartha Lakes Road 24 and Scotch Line Road.

Both occupants were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours for the investigation and to allow hydro to attend to wires damaged in the crash.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), Transport Canada, and the Ministry of Environment all became involved.

The plane crashed into a ditch, injuring the pilot and a passenger, near the intersection of Kawartha Lake Road and Scotch Line Road in Kawartha Lakes.
