‘GUNSHOT’ CALL TURNS OUT TO BE FIRECRACKER

BRACEBRIDGE — A second case this week of mistaken gunshots had police here on high alert Friday morning on Manitoba Street.
Provincial police officers responded to a report of “a noise that sounded like a gunshot” at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 23.
They were called to an address on Manitoba Street, Bracebridge.
Officers met with the homeowners and determined that it was not a gun shot, but a firecracker that had caused the noise.
Police say the homeowners were “enlightened to the sort of disruption that such a noise can cause.”
