PRIDE WEEK INCLUDES DRAG SHOW, PARADE, PICNIC

BRACEBRIDGE — Muskoka is taking pride in its LGBTQ+ community this week.
Across the district rainbow flags are popping up everywhere.
On Monday, July 22, members of the Muskoka Pride committee and supporters, joined Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith in raising the rainbow flag at the Town of Bracebridge town hall, says a town release.

Muskoka Pride is a registered not for profit organization with a mission to bring people together by offering advocacy, resources and social activities for Muskoka’s diverse LGBTQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Allies) community.
This year marks 2019 marks the 11th annual Muskoka Pride Picnic hosted by the Muskoka Pride committee.
The picnic will be held on Sunday, July 28, from noon to 4 p.m., downtown at Memorial Park in Bracebridge.
Everyone is welcome to attend the picnic to help celebrate the on-going efforts of Muskoka Pride to promote dignity and equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people and the tireless dedication of advocates and allies who strive to help forge a more inclusive society.
“The annual Muskoka Pride Picnic and Festival has been increasing in numbers each year, which is a clear testament to all of the hard work of the Muskoka Pride Committee, volunteers and to the support in our community as we celebrate diversity”, said Smith. “Everyone is encouraged to show their support and attend the Muskoka Pride Parade and the annual Muskoka Pride Picnic.”
