BALA — Muskoka Lakes is more than a flood.

It’s the envy of everyone, for its lifestyle, its people, it’s food and beverages.

Savour it all Thursday June 20 at the annual Spotlight on Muskoka Lakes at The Kee.

Experience a taste of what it’ll be like here this summer.

The popular gala event, hosted by the Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce, is open to one and all (tickets are just $25) and features a marché of delights for foodies from local restaurants and food producers.

The celebration of food and fun at last year’s 2018 Spotlight on Muskoka Lakes was a huge success, with taste of music and mirth.

Enjoy the best of Crossroads, Lakeside Bala, Castle Blue, Milford Bay Trout Farm, Knead Pizza, the Bala Falls Pub, Taco Kar and the new Muskoka Boil Co., with its amazing seafood.

Guests will be able to sample everything from mussels to the back by popular demand mushroom ravioli.

On stage is a sampling of some of the incredible array of talent entertaining Muskokans year-round.

Beverley Mahood and her band will be on stage, welcoming guests like Leah Daniels, an Ontario Country Music Artist of the Year, along with John Anderson, Al Rowe and Max Shepherd. And they’ll be paying tribute to bands who’ve played the Kee in years gone by.

“I’m calling it ‘In the Key of The Kee,’ as these great artists will play hits that recall music played by bands from all the decades of the Kee’s over 75 years of existence,” says chamber executive director Norah Fountain. “From the early big band days to music of today.

All the entertainment has been made possible by sponsor and chamber member Harvey Kalles and the efforts of Tom Cross.

“And we’re thrilled that Beverley Mahood will be our MC,” says Fountain.

The silent auction table will be tempting, too, she adds.

Items range from a Tilley Hat to beautiful cottage décor pieces, golf foursomes, dining and spa certificates and a flight over Muskoka.

Chamber president Spencer Morland says there’s an extra special item packed into the evening — a chance to win a Runaway to Rosseau Package. It includes an overnight stay in the historic Rosseau Retreat with gourmet breakfast for two, a $100 dining certificate at Crossroads and a gift package from HillTop Interiors and the Rosseau General Store.

You’ve got to be there to win, adds Morland.

Spotlight tickets are $25 at the Chamber office in Bala, online at Spotlight2019.eventbrite.ca, or at the door from 5pm.

Doors open on this grand celebration of all that’s great in Muskoka Lakes at 6 p.m. sharp.

Proceeds from this annual Spotlight event get pumped right back into area businesses through Shop Local ad campaigns.

Event organizers wish to thank the generosity of sponsors The Kee, Muskoka Party Rentals, Port Carling Dental, RBC, Walker’s Point Marina, Busy Lizzie, Port Carling and Bala Garden Centres, Charmed Events and Design and Harvey Kalles.

Savour all that Muskoka Lakes has to offer, including great tasty delectable treats from the folks at Cross Roads – and much, more more.
