GRAVENHURST — Ron Jacques, owner of The Brick in Orillia, had a brilliant idea, which he pitched to the top brass at The Brick, Canada.

Today his brilliant idea is shining as his new The Brick, Accents & More opens on the main street of Gravenhurst in what was formerly Mac’s Covenience.

And Thursday evening a some people got a sneak peek before Friday’s official opening.

Brick owner Ron Jacques gets a welcome to town from Knapp’s Furniture owner Greg Knapp and his wife, Colleeen, Thursday night.

This is a first of it’s kind for The Brick and if it does well you can expect to see it spread across the country.

Jacques said he is able to service the customer easily due to the larger store he has in Orillia.

And the store in Gravenhurst is packed with many delights for the eye, as well as furniture such as a great Murphy bed and a hall seat.

The store will delight those who are looking for the next new accent for their home.

Accents have expanded to include hooded cozy coats decorated with moose and other Canadian icons.

The new Muskoka Road store is managed by Melanie Carson who has been working at the Orillia store and is looking forward to moving to Gravenhurst in the future.

The store will be open seven days a week. Mon.-Thurs. and Sat. from 10 to 6 p.m., Fridays 10-8 p.m. and Sundays 11-5 p.m.

A nice-looking new storefront is a welcome addition to downtown Gravenhurst.
Gravenhurst Brick store manager Melanie Carson was on hand to show off the new downtown home and more store.
The store was full of home seating and accents products ready for the long weekend opening Friday, May 17. This Murphy bed also makes a great bar setting.
