POLICE RESCUE PEOPLE TRAPPED BY FLOODING

HUNTSVILLE Provincial police here have been busy the past 24 hours with localized flooding and have been using a small police boat to help.

“Saving lives!! Brave & Courageous, Huntsville OPP Officers rescue a number of people from their home while flood waters raise.”

That’s one tweet from the OPP’s Central Division Saturday.

And: “Huntsville OPP rescue a couple trapped in vehicle as the water rises over Aspdin RD. Check road conditions and arrive safely to your destination this Easter weekend.”

That was another tweet, as police were called to rescue people on the road and reportedly some AirBnB customers.

Photos online show police coming the aid of them.
