KELLY SHIRE GUINNESS SNOWMOBILE RECORD?

MUSKOKA LAKES — They’re just waiting for confirmation, but fundraisers for the Kelly Shire Foundation think they have a set at an unofficial Guinness World Record for the “Snowmobile Greatest Distance in 24 hours by a Team.”

After some weather delays, again this year, the four riders, Rich Lys, Claus Zander, David Traill and Wes Juszku completed more than 3,350 kilometres, says spokesperson Nancy Redmond.

Additionally, they raised $22,250 for the Kelly Shires Foundation Breast Cancer Foundation.

“We are in the process of doing all the paperwork and compiling the GPS data and video records to substantiate the claim,” says Redmond.

“We may have to wait several months before we receive confirmation of the new record.”

Team members celebrate completion of run with a little bubbly.
