HOLLY THOMPSON OF BALA WANTS TO BE NEXT TORY MP

BALA — The race to replace independent MP Tony Clement now has two official contenders.

Holly Thompson is a chartered  accountant in Bala who says Canadian concerns are being mishandled or ignored by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Liberals.

Holly Thompson has thrown her hat into the ring to be the next MP, to replace Tony Clement who is not running again.

Thompson, a chartered accountant and Bala resident, has announced that she is seeking the Conservative Party of Canada’s nomination in Parry Sound-Muskoka for the upcoming federal election in October.

She joins Meghan Shannon and possibly Scott Aichison.

Thompson said in a release Wednesday “I’m running because many of the fundamental concerns facing Canadians are being mishandled or ignored by the Trudeau Liberals, and I know I have a unique blend of experience and values to to champion change and bring new energy on behalf of the people of Parry Sound-Muskoka and all Canadians. My roots in the riding go back five generations, and I am thrilled with the opportunity to serve the community of friends and neighbours and to be their voice in Ottawa.”

“My husband Mike and I look forward to meeting more of the great people in our community here in Parry Sound-Muskoka and hearing directly about what matters to them. We are already engaged in conversations across the riding and are excited by the enthusiastic response. If elected, I will make sure that their concerns and values are represented in Parliament and work hard to bring responsible governance back to Ottawa.”

While the Conservative Party has not yet announced a date for the nomination meeting, it is expected in the coming weeks. In order to vote, local residents must be a current member of the Conservative Party.
