PORT SYDNEY — A Moosonee man was taken to hospital last Friday with serious injuries after an early morning assault.
Provincial police say that on March 1, 2019, at about 1:50 a.m., officers from the Huntsville OPP detachment were called to Muskoka Road 10, in Port Sydney, to investigate a fight between to adult males.
The 61-year-old victim wondered off from the scene of the fight and was quickly located by police. He was transported to Huntsville District Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Huntsville OPP uniform members and the Muskoka Crime Unit are conducting an investigation into an altercation.
George Butcher, 62, of Port Sydney, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville on Wednesday April 3, 2019 to answer to his charge.
