$50,000 reward in murder of man found in Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKESTwo years ago today, 19-year-old Bayram Abolhassani-Larki was last seen.

“Bayram Abolhassani-Larki’s killer is still out there,” say police who are offering $50,000 for his capture and conviction.

On May 16, 2017, he was found murdered in a vehicle parked in a field off of Post Road in the Township of Ops, City of Kawartha Lakes.

The search for his killer continues.

For the past two years, detectives from the OPP and City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service (CKLPS) have been actively working to identify the person or persons responsible for his murder.

On the second anniversary of his disappearance, the OPP and CKLPS are asking the public for any information that might help police solve this case.

His mother has collaborated with the OPP and CKLPS to record a video appealing to anyone who might have information about the disappearance and subsequent murder of her son.

A reward of $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder.

“Someone knows something about what happened to Bayram Abolhassani-Larki. No detail is too small-you never know what might be the piece of information that helps us understand how this young man met his untimely death,” says OPP Det. Insp. Dave Robinson.

“Bayram Abolhassani-Larki’s killer is still out there. Someone has information that can help the police get that person off the streets. Your information may also prevent another family from suffering like Bayram’s family is,” addes Det. Sgt. Kirk Robertson, of the Kawartha police.
