A daughter and her father form a band with a song that goes viral online, conflicting the teen headed for college and a dad who can’t bear to let her go.

GRAVENHURST —  December’s Fine Films offering, Hearts Beat Loud, is a sure winner with audiences.

Dec. 18 Fine Films tickets are $8 and are available at Scotiabank, Stedman’s now.

If, that is, you subscribe to the Rotten Tomatoes ratings, which gave it a 91 per cent score.

Widower and aging Brooklyn hipster Frank starts a band with his teenage daughter, Sam, just before she leaves home to attend college in California.

When one of their songs finds success online, it complicates Frank’s attempts to let go of his dreams of stardom and allow his daughter to find her own path in life.
