Busy weekend in Gravenhurst with Santa Saturday and Met Silver Band Sunday

GRAVENHURST — The holiday season gets in full swing here this weekend, with the Santa Claus parade and big United Church Christmas bazaar and tea in the morning.

From Sleigh Bells to Silver Bells, the Metropolitan Silver Band will play them all Sunday at 2 p.m. as part of the Muskoka Concert Association season.

Sunday the Muskoka Concert Association continues with the Metropolitan Silver Band’s salute to silver bells — cornets that is.

The band’s snow date from last March is a go according to Mother Nature and the Weather Channel.

Conductor Fran Harvey promises a Christmas treat that includes not just the 35-member British-style brass band but a pair of lovely local lady singers — Tracy Hoehner and Sherese Stevens.

For your added enjoyment, they will by Huntsville saxophonist Gabby White, the featured youth performer who will be the warm up act at 1:30 p.m.

Harvey and her band hit the stage at 2 p.m.

The $30 tickets are available at the door.
