Steve Hill: The One-Man Blues Rock Band Op Oct. 5

GRAVENHURST — Steve Hill’s solo show is definitely not one of the loneliest numbers you’ll ever hear – or see.

Steve Hill’s one-man blues show is a sight to be seen and heard.

Hill’s show promoter Terry McRae, of Shantero Productions, calls Hill “the most spectacular one-man band on the planet.

And Hill is touring in support of his critically acclaimed Steve Hill: The One-Man Blues Rock Band.

He’ll be at the Gravenhurst Opera House Oct. 5.

Released May 11, the album immediately shot to number one on the blues charts on Itunes Canada.

McRae’s release says: “An overnight sensation 20-plus years in the making, he is now being recognized as an ambitious and raucous force on the Canadian and international blues-rock scene, picking up an impressive load of hardware, including  a JUNO for Blues Album of the Year, and multi Maple Blues awards for Electric Act of the Year, Guitarist of the Year, Recording/Producer of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.

“When it comes to one-man bands, this guitarist and singer-songwriter extraordinaire knows no limits. As chrishighreviews.com writes, “The man not only sings with such a raw, barbed vocal style underpinned by a deliciously handled guitar, he also comes loaded with two kick drums, a hi-hat cymbal—played by virtue of the stick attached ingeniously to the machine head of his guitar—and, on occasion, a harmonica.”

His plaudits include:

“Unfathomable that a single musician can possess that much talent.” – Rock and Blues Muse.

“Steve Hill’s rise can only be described as stratospheric!”  – Manchester Rock

“ …the top star on the Canadian blues scene right now”  – Bob Mersereau, CBC

“If you love Blues based rock and you’ve never heard of Steve Hill, I guarantee you will become a fan after you hear his music.”  – Dedicated Rocker
