Woman, 42, dead in Hwy. 400 crash Friday near Lake Joe Road

GEORGIAN BAY TWP. — A 42-year-old woman is dead and two other people are in serious condition in hospital in Toronto after an early morning crash Friday on Hwy. 400 in west Muskoka

One person is dead and two others are in hospital in Toronto following an early morning crash Friday on Hwy. 400.

Provincial police at Bracebridge , along with Muskoka Paramedic Services and Georgian Bay Fire responded to a single vehicle collision that occurred near Lake Joseph Road in Georgian Bay Township just before 7 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018.

The occupants were extricated from the vehicle and one passenger, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers were airlifted to a Toronto area hospital with life altering injuries and the driver was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, police said Friday.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and Highway 400 in that area was closed for several hours, however has since reopened.
