Police arrest man Saturday after Kahshe Lake cottager dies

GRAVENHURST — Provincial police arrested a male suspect today after an “interaction” with the OPP following the death of a 67-year-old cottager.

Police are investigating the death of a 67-year-old Kahshe Lake cottager and have a male suspect in custody today, Aug. 11.

Police say officers from the Bracebridge detachment, along with the Muskoka OPP Crime Unit under the direction of Detective Inspector Scherer from the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, are investigating the death of the seasonal residence on Kahshe Lake in Gravenhurst on Saturday, August 11.

They say a male was taken into custody after an interaction with police and there is no ongoing concern for public safety.

The investigation is in its early stages and further details will be released as they become available.
