Summer celebrity sightings: PM and Olympic bronze medallist

PORT CARLING/MACTIER — You never know who you’ll run into in Muskoka in the summer.

Last Thursday (July 19) at Turtle Jack’s Lake Muskoka retaurant in Port Carling, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau posed for selfies with several people.

Among them Tony (The Beer) King and John Duck; and Tamsen Tillson and their families.

Saturday, at the Muskoka Station in MacTier Olympic hockey player Chris Lee and his family were on hand with his bronze medal from this winter’s Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

The MacTier native was on hand to thank his fans and those who donated to KidSport Georgian Bay. KidSport covers sport registration fees and equipment grants for local youth who cannot afford to play sports.

“I’ve been pretty blessed to have had an entire town behind me my entire career and I was just happy to play a small role in giving back to the community through KidSport.”

He was joined by his wife Eileen, and their two kids Carter and Jackson.

Lee signed autographs July 21 at 11 a.m. for two hours.

Tamsen Tillson was also at Turtle Jack’s where she and her family also did the photo-op with the PM.
