Washago robbery suspects arrested

WASHAGO — Two Burlington people arrested in Kingston on unrelated charges have been charged in a Washago robbery last week.

A man and woman from Burlington have been arrested in the June 3 armed robbery attempt in Washago.

On June 3, 2018, the Orillia OPP received a call of a robbery at a Washago business in The Township of Severn.

They say that at 8:40 p.m. a male entered the business and approached the cashier brandishing a knife and demanded the cash register to be opened.

The suspect had a bandana covering the lower portion of his face. The robbery was interrupted by a customer entering the store. The male fled, in a dark coloured two-door sedan, westbound on Muskoka Street. No one was hurt during this incident.

The Orillia OPP identified the suspects involved in the Robbery as a 37-year-old male and 24-year-old female both from Burlington.

They were arrested by Kingston Police Service on unrelated charges and were transported to Orillia where they were held for a bail hearing.
