He who hesitates has lost his licence for 90 days

GRAVENHURST — A driver who hesitated before reaching a RIDE inspection has been charged with impaired driving.

An OPP RIDE stop has led to charges against a Gravenhurst driver on Thursday, May 31.

Provincial police say that on Thursday May 31, 2018, at 11 p.m., OPP officers were conducting a RIDE check on Bethune Drive in Gravenhurst when an approaching vehicle stopped short of the officers and then proceeded slowly.

As a result of their investigation, police arrested and charged 32-year-old Gregory Nancekievill, of Gravenhurst, with impaired driving, Having Over 80 mg of Alcohol per 100 mL Blood CC 253(1)(b).

Nancekievill received an immediate 90 day driver’s licence suspension and further had his vehicle towed and impounded.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 3, 2018 to answer to his charge.
