Muskoka Big Band dance June 15 Bracebridge legion

BRACEBRIDGE — Love to dance to a live band?

But you can’t find anywhere in Muskoka to enjoy a waltz, the fox trot or where to do the Lindy hop?

Well, you’re in lucky, for a least one night.

The Muskoka Big Band, a 17-piece spinoff of the Muskoka Concert Band, is playing the Royal Canadian Legion Friday night, June 15.

Tickets are only $15, with proceeds going to the MCB, the Gravenhurst Bifocals Band and amateur youth musicians in Muskoka.

Band leader Neil Barlow has been working the two-year-old revived band hard since last fall at the bands’ Utterson Community Hall rehearsal space.

He’s got all your favourite big band charts dusted off and polished.

Also watch for the Bifocals Canada Day at the all-day Sunday celebration and music fest at Gull Lake Rotary Park at 2 p.m.; followed by the Orillia Silver Band and various other bands and events as part of the July 1 party.

Swing and sway with Neil Barlow and the Muskoka Big Band at the Royal Canadian Legion in Bracebridge June 15.
