GRAVENHURST — Would you be interested in learning how to garden from a hammock?

Sit back and learn how to rest on your gardening laurels.

Or, at least, discover how to reduce the chores in your garden, select easy-care plants, and enjoy their gardens even more.

He will be the guest speaker at the May 15 meeting of the Gravenhurst Horticultural Society.

As a master gardener, author and popular garden speaker, Dan Cooper of St. Catharines, will show you how to create your own low-maintenance garden and find time to relax in the hammock.

Cooper’s entertaining 45-minute presentation is inspired by his book “Gardening from a Hammock,” and it features plant suggestions, gardening tips, plant combinations for low-maintenance gardening, and much, much more you’ll be sure to want to hear as spring finally arrives and the gardening and planting season is in full bloom.

The Gardening from a Hammock presentation features vibrant, colourful photography of easy-care plants by award-winning photographer Paul Zammit and other professional photographers; teaches about water conservation and drought-tolerant plants; and gives tips on how to minimize weeding and cut down on the time spent on garden chores to allow more time enjoying the garden.

Come out on May 15 to the Gravenhurst Seniors Centre at 480 First St. N., Gravenhurst for the 7 p.m. Gravenhurst Horticultural meeting and hear all about easy gardening.
